Cara earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, subsequently conducting research at UIC and NYU alongside prominent clinical, cognitive, social, and political psychologists. Though she enjoyed clinical research, Cara realized she preferred to focus on the whole human, and her desire to help others directly by addressing health and well-being in a holistic context led her to become an acupuncturist and herbalist.
Cara remains grounded in the scientific method due to her years of experience as a researcher, and she is a passionate advocate of the importance of integrative medicine in our healthcare system. In her treatments, she explores the mind-body connection, emphasizing how stress and emotions can directly affect physiological health. Cara also views communication between practitioner and patient as an essential component to successful treatment, and she prioritizes explaining acupuncture and herbal medicine and answering any questions her patients may have.
Alec Bridges received his Masters Degree from Yo San University in Los Angeles where he treated a variety of health conditions including pain, orthopedics, men’s & women’s health, digestive disorders, stress, skin issues, and much more. In addition to his clinical training at YSU, he completed an observation internship under Dr. Maoshing Ni and Dr. Daoshing Ni at the renowned Tao of Wellness in Santa Monica, CA.
Alec’s interest in holistic medicine developed after years of feeling run down without any apparent reason. Determined to find an answer, he explored nutrition, yoga, tai chi, and Chinese Medicine. Through constantly incorporating these modalities into his daily life, he experienced a significant shift in his overall health. This ultimately led him to pursue a deeper study of acupuncture, herbalism, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Alec has been practicing Vipassana meditation for 18 years and finds it to be an invaluable tool for relieving stress and anxiety. He treats all issues and especially enjoys treating anxiety and healthy aging.
